Extended & Variational TGEs Are Coming
Extended & Variational TGEs Are Coming
Two of the most anticipated perp DEX airdrops are next in line. Variational, the #2 perp DEX in October with $78B in volume (behind only Hyperliquid’s $229B, per CryptoRank), plans its $VAR TGE for Q4, with 32% of supply going to users fully unlocked. Extended has confirmed $XTEN for November: 1B supply, 30% to points users and 32.9% unlocked at TGE.
History says timing matters. All 8 recent perp DEX tokens rallied after TGE, from +65% for GRVT to +2,931% for HYPE. But half of them peaked within 12 days, and half now trade below their TGE price. The median token is 53% off its ATH.
AVNT is the cautionary tale: +820% in 12 days, now 66% below its TGE price. Only HYPE, LIT, O and TREAD still trade above launch.

Extended Dashboard: $XTEN Tokenomics Revealed Ahead of November TGE
Extended has published its tokenomics ahead of a TGE planned for November. Total supply is fixed at 1B, and the whole airdrop unlocks at launch:
• Community Airdrop: 30%, fully unlocked at TGE
• Founders & Team: 25.14%, 12-month cliff, then linear vesting to month 48
• Investors: 24.86%,12-month cliff, then monthly vesting

The airdrop goes to Extended Points holders, who claim by accepting the terms in the mobile app. Unclaimed tokens go to the ecosystem fund.

Flare Puts 129M XRP to Work in DeFi
Flare Puts 129M XRP to Work in DeFi
FXRP, Flare’s 1:1 version of XRP, went live in September 2025, and its 5M launch cap filled in four hours. Supply reached 155M by April 2026. Today 129M FXRP, about 90% of the supply, is deployed in DeFi: 52% in lending, 39% in Firelight staking and 8% in DEX liquidity.
Flare’s DeFi TVL is $202M, and its five largest protocols are all built around XRP. Flare’s 2.2B FLR in incentives ended in July, and FXRP in DeFi has slipped only 5% since then, from 136M to 129M.
FLR inflation was cut from 5% to 3% in May. The gap is revenue: about $2.3M a year, against roughly $18M in annual FLR issuance.

Fhenix Brings Encrypted Smart Contracts to Ethereum and Arbitrum
Fhenix Brings Encrypted Smart Contracts to Ethereum and Arbitrum
Fhenix has launched CoFHE, its encryption coprocessor, on Ethereum and Arbitrum mainnet. It’s built on fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), which lets smart contracts work with data that is never decrypted. The heavy computation runs off-chain, and developers add it with a single Solidity import.
Its dual-mode tokens can switch a balance between public and confidential mode in one transaction, with no wrapping or bridging. Privacy is one of the biggest things institutions miss on public chains, where everyone can see balances, positions and trading strategies.
Fluton and AlphaEngine are the first apps live, with three more due in Q4. Fhenix is also building a confidential stablecoin with Tandem, the venture arm of Arbitrum developer Offchain Labs.

81 Crypto Projects Shut Down in 2026
81 Crypto Projects Shut Down in 2026
The bear market keeps claiming victims. Since January, 81 crypto projects have announced they’re shutting down, including some of the industry’s biggest names:
• Exchanges: BitMEX, BitMart, CoinEx, AscendEX, Bit.com
Chains & L2s: Blast, Abstract, Polygon zkEVM, Loopring, Sophon
• DeFi: Balancer, Radiant, ZeroLend, Angle, Seamless
• NFTs & wallets: Blur, Foundation, Magic Eden Wallet, Leap Wallet
The reasons are mostly the same: trading volumes collapsed, airdrop farmers left, and some protocols never recovered from hacks, as with Balancer and Radiant.
April was the worst month with 16 shutdowns, and the pace hasn’t slowed since: Blur, Abstract and Blast all announced closures in October alone.

$3.47B Lost in the 24 Biggest Hacks Since 2025, and Ledger Is the Newest One
$3.47B Lost in the 24 Biggest Hacks Since 2025, and Ledger Is the Newest One
On October 9, an attacker drained over $93M from 315 wallets in a few hours. All the confirmed victims had bought Ledger devices from CryptoBilis, an authorized reseller in Southeast Asia. Ledger says its own systems weren’t breached, but it confirmed a hidden hardware implant inside one of the devices.
That makes it stand out on the list. Most of the $3.47B lost in these 24 hacks came from exchanges and protocols, with Bybit alone at $1.43B. Here, users kept their crypto in cold storage, as security advice says, and still lost it, because the device had been tampered with before it reached them.

Weekly Recap: AI, Tech & Crypto
Weekly Recap: AI, Tech & Crypto
October 5–11, 2026
A rough week for crypto and a loud one for AI. Bitcoin slid to ~$80.5K with $1B+ in liquidations, and spot ETFs saw $681M in outflows, ending a three-week inflow streak. OpenAI made ChatGPT answer with interactive charts and forms instead of text, and Vitalik warned that AI could replace traditional onchain apps within two years.
Big money kept moving: SpaceX made an $8B push into wireless, Waymo closed a $5B loan, and Manus raised $500M after China blocked Meta’s $2B acquisition. Firmus showed the limits of the AI boom by pulling its $5B IPO when investors balked at a $30.6B valuation.

Plume Vaults Expand to Monad and Robinhood Chain
Plume Vaults Expand to Monad and Robinhood Chain
Plume’s RWA vaults are now live on Monad and Robinhood Chain, and Plume says more chains are coming. Users on both networks can deposit into vaults like nOPAL, Plume’s largest at $115.4M, which holds FX-hedged Brazilian credit card receivables. They can also use FACTOR ($8.2M), which funds invoice-financing deals for businesses.
The move follows the money. Over the past 30 days, Monad pulled in $47M in net RWA inflows, while Ethereum saw $618M flow out. Robinhood Chain is quickly becoming the main venue for tokenized stocks. Plume now has ~$188M across its vaults, and instead of waiting for users to bridge over, it’s taking the vaults to them.
